Southeast Texas Bridal Tips – Celebrate the Little Things
On SETX Weddings, we spend a lot of time telling you about things for planning your Southeast Texas wedding.
Every now and then we like to take a moment to tell you about being married. After all, that will last long past your wedding day!
Today’s Southeast Texas marriage tip is– “Celebrate the Little Things”.
This month, August, ten years ago I was in a foreign country crushing on a guy that had been wooing me for about six months.
Our relationship began on a dreary Thursday the previous February – Italian food at Auntie Pasta’s in Nacogdoches.
I wore jeans, a black sweater, strappy sandals, and a wrap.
The relationship progressed, moving through coffee dates, hamburgers, and late night phone calls until March.
The Houston Live Stock Rodeo featuring a concert by Martina McBride was a great date. He sent a huge bouquet of flowers for my birthday in April. Road trips made May even more exciting. He visited me in Costa Rica in July. We continued corresponding through August. September, we set a wedding date. October we planned. November, we wed. December was our first holiday together.
I could go on and on remembering the moments and seasons in our lives because there are so many. I am always the one that says, “remember when…” and we both laugh. Often they are just little memories, but they are the things that bind us today.
Today I am celebrating all the things that have happened at the end of the past ten Augusts:
- 9 years ago we found out we were going to have a baby
- first day of kindergarten
- summer’s last hurrahs at the beach
So here’s to not just your Southeast Texas wedding anniversary, but to all the many, many anniversaries that you and your lovey-dovey make everyday.
Remember to celebrate the little things!
